Welcome! I am Tori Yattaw and I live in Mid-coast Maine with my husband, Chris and 2 dogs. I am a self-taught artist that has worked in various mediums. Many of you may own and carry my handbags and totes which is where I began to develop my surface patterns and designs. Over the past year, I have stepped away from that and have written and illustrated a children’s book. This experience has changed my creativity to more of an illustration and surface design focus. I create to tell visual stories with vibrant colors and whimsical designs or tonal pieces with strength in lines and composition. My art evokes a connection to the imagination of a young child to the deep emotion of an adult with my mix of mediums and subject matter. Moods are captured in watercolor, markers, charcoals or pen and ink. Maine is no stranger to inspiration with the 4 seasons that surround my home.
